72-Hour Field Competency Development
The Ranger Expedition builds on foundational skills and transitions students into independent field operation. For 72 hours, participants are challenged to apply what they know in changing conditions while developing consistency, judgment, and self-reliance.
This tier emphasizes repetition, problem-solving, and practical decision-making. Students begin managing their own camps, routines, and resources under instructor oversight.
The Ranger tier is where skills become habits—and confidence becomes capability.
Key Focus Areas:
- Independent campcraft
- Shelter refinement and natural shelter construction
- Intermediate fire starting and management
- Calorie procurement off the land
- Field cooking and resource planning
- Environmental awareness and efficiency
Outcome:
Graduates demonstrate functional field competence and qualify for Tier 3.
